Equine Massage and Gait Analysis in Sheridan, IN: Meet Julia Evans with King Equine

At the heart of Sheridan, Indiana’s horse community, King Equine is making waves with a unique, horse-first approach to equine massage and gait analysis. Whether you're a competitive rider, a casual trail enthusiast, or someone who just wants the best for your horse, owner and founder of King Equine, Julia Evans, brings a deep passion for equine wellness that goes beyond the arena.

From One OTTB to a Purpose-Driven Career

The journey of King Equine began with Dutch—a spirited off-the-track thoroughbred (OTTB) in need of more than just love. "We all know how that goes," Julia says with a laugh. Like many OTTBs, Dutch was struggling. Lack of topline, refusal to jump, intermittent lameness, and general unhappiness under saddle were just the beginning. But instead of giving up, she dug deeper.

Fueled by curiosity and commitment, she began immersing herself in everything she could find: massage therapy, biomechanics, lameness diagnostics, and sports medicine podcasts. Slowly but surely, Julia started helping Dutch recover using a combination of targeted massage and corrected groundwork. “He made a complete 180 and is now happily training to be an event horse for his adult amateur mom,” she shares.

A Healing Touch: Equine Massage & Gait Analysis

Today, Julia offers professional equine massage and gait analysis services across central Indiana, including Sheridan, Noblesville, Westfield, Zionsville, and surrounding areas—traveling up to an hour away with a minimum number of horses per visit.

Her sessions aren’t cookie-cutter. With an understanding of the physical and emotional demands placed on sport and pleasure horses, she tailors her approach to each individual. No two horses move the same, and she treats every horse like Dutch—with careful observation, empathy, and skill.

“At the end of the day, it is all for the love of the horse. Not even the love of the sport. So many people do this as a hobby but to their horse, it’s the real deal!”

More Than Just Massage

What sets King Equine apart is not just the quality of the massage but the education provided to owners.

“I love teaching horse owners how to help their horses stay sound and feel good between visits,” she explains.

Her mission is rooted in partnership—with both the horse and rider.

While Julia currently limits herself to five horses a day due to the physical demands of the job, every session is focused and meaningful. She’s not in it for the money—she’s in it for the transformation.
