Before we dive into Raw Beauty, I wanted to take a sec to say thank you to those of you who attended Shop Look Learn on Facebook Live. This was our first live event and it was so great to talk to you guys in person and address your questions surrounding beauty + posing.
Anyway, Raw Beauty is a portrait project that I'm so excited to start. It is my goal to photograph 100 women 18 years of age and up (which I'm hoping you 30 + gals will participate. I want to see more of your beautiful faces!) I'm 33 years old and we need more gals from our generation and up to show that it's ok to be photographed no matter what your age. This is another reason why I'm so passionate about this project.
Younger generations are being celebrated by commercial industries. Isn't it time for us 30 + generations to stand out? When is our time?
I want to squash this concept that you have to be young to take beautiful photographs.
But most importantly, when do you feel the most beautiful?
It doesn't have to be from a physical beauty stand point alone, when does your soul feel most beautiful? Here I'll go first, I feel most beautiful when I'm wearing a long comfortable dress, walking on the beach at sunset, hand in hand with my husband. The wind is making my hair messy with the salty ocean air, the sand + surf between my toes with someone I deeply care about.
I'm now accepting entries for Raw Beauty. I want to share whatever your "salty-ocean hair" moment is. All images will be in black and white and photographed at The Hatch in Broad Ripple. Sign up here to participate, I would love to have you.
