The project was a hit. I was going to photograph 100 women in under a year, in black + white, w/ little to no makeup. I met some amazing women, but after I hit 12 I couldn’t keep it going. Now, let me share with you why not. I had a break between August + September and during that break there was something else that I had to reserve space for that’s a part of my “bigger picture.”
As you may all know by now, I have a podcast. (www.cbbpodcast.club) My heart is IN it. Much like BBQP I had an impromptu meeting on the way home from Yellow Springs, Ohio w/ some friends on how we can expand the brand of the podcast.
Even though I can’t give you all of the details YET, I will tell you there are some cool events that will be coming up with the podcast. On top of all of this, BBQP is going toward different genres. The reason is, I need to follow where my heart + soul is taking me. I work for myself, so why would I refuse to follow what I love to do? I’ll be photographing, maternity, editorial portrait sessions, and head shots.
With all of this going on, I can’t make space for Raw Beauty and if I can’t give it my 100% I would rather not do it at all. You understand right? It took a huge chunk of my time and there was no real “end result.” Even though it was a really cool way to meet women + break the social norm of how you “should” feel about yourself/be photographed. Maybe one day I’ll pick it back up, but for now it’s cancelled indefinitely.
