When you take some effort into preparing for your shoot, the better you feel, and the more you get out of the session. Let’s cover the basics:
Make an appointment the week of your photo shoot. As far as color goes, make it as neutral as possible. For example: nude, white, light pink, or black. The shape is completely up to you. If you’re not one to get her nails done, just make sure there’s no chipped polish, and use plenty of moisturizer or oil on your cuticles.
For dry skin: Make sure you apply body oil or lotion on your skin the week of the shoot after every shower or bath. Anything with cocoa or shea soothes and heals.
For oily skin: Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! It’s important to include a lighter weight moisturizer. Something that does NOT include thick or creamy bases.
For combination skin: Exfoliate and moisturize with a light weight moisturizer.
You may already have a skin care regime and only you know your skin.
3. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
You can track your daily consumption of water with the My Water App found in your app store. It may seem silly for this to be a topic to cover here, but water controls a lot of functions in our body. From making our skin look amazing to our energy levels.
4. BABY, GET SOME SHUT EYE!
That’s right! Rest up! Get plenty of sleep the day before your session. Do I really need to emphasize this?
For ladies that get their hair colored, please get your roots or highlights touched up before your session. This is NOT a good time to try something new or exciting.
If you feel so inclined, by all means schedule a massage the day before the shoot. It will help you relax.
Have all of your outfits and accessories that you’ll be wearing to the shoot in your car the night before. That way all you have to do is wake up, brush your teeth and show up!
