Women often tell me, “I need to lose some weight, before I book a session with you.” This comes from our culture of not feeling good enough, thin enough, smart enough, or _________ enough. These are not flaws that you have, and it’s not a gauge of how you are loved or how you can receive love. The people that matter in your life will love you no matter your shape or size.
We are stuck in a culture that celebrates the earlier parts of life, so I get a lot of wedding, senior, and maternity inquires ( which my clients are amazing and I love them so much!). However it’s few and far between that people request photography after their wedding date. This needs to change.
Let me explain, stay with me here. You spend money on a wedding photographer and let’s be honest, sometimes the photos out live the marriage. So, if we’re celebrating a relationship that may or may not last, why aren’t we spending the time or money on portraits of our relationships with our family and friends that we currently have? Don’t they deserve to be celebrated too? How do you feel about it?
And one more thing, if you are worried about your weight, my camera is good for taking off 10 lbs.
