“I love the empowerment for older women that you are promoting. We have lived in a society where aging women are diminished and invisible, so to speak. We “boomers” don’t see ourselves as old or irrelevant. I am 60, and at the top of my career. While my aging body bothers me in some ways, in other ways I have never felt more beautiful. Today I welcomed R. to the studio. She is a nurse practitioner on the south side of Indianapolis with a shining personality, but also had a warm nurturing side. I don’t know if it was because she’s a nurse that cares about women’s health or that she’s a mother of two grown children.
There was something about her that made me very happy to be in her presence. As in traditional fashion, her nerves were at play. Upon her arrival, she came in and unwound in the hair and makeup chair with Nikki. She began to feel at ease as Nikki worked her magic.
At her shoot, she was a joy to work with. Her look reminded me of something I’ve seen out of a 90’s high fashion ad. Though she claims she’s never modeled prior, she totally rocked her shoot. We talked a lot about traveling to NYC and Europe, as I jokingly begged her to take me with her. (But seriously, can I? :p)
During her viewing and ordering appointment, she absolutely loved her photos and wasn’t expecting to love as many as she did. (Love it when that happens.) When she’s ready, I can’t wait for her to come back for round two.
