Rowan + Jake Maternity Session | Indianapolis IN Maternity Photographer

I’m about a year late making this post. But, better late than never! About last year at this time Rowan and Jake were about to become first time parents. Rowan is my cousin who feels more like a sister than anything. She’s patient, kind, nurturing, and quiet. But that quietness is her super power. She’s really really smart and observant, which makes people watching a riot when you go out in public with her. 


We have a 12 year gap in our ages. I grew up with her always spending the night on the weekends and being there when I would get home from school. We’d watch the Powerpuff girls, eat ice cream, and play with the cat. As she got older we would go see the latest Harry Potter movie which transitioned into The Hunger Games. 


I always joke that she’s the reason why I don’t have kids, but if I’m being honest she was the perfect model of a baby, toddler, kiddo, and now woman that would make anyone want to have kids. So, when she asked me to take her maternity portraits I jumped at the chance. 


She was made to be a mom. I mean, every woman is, right? But with Row it’s different. I’ve watched her grow into this amazingly strong, confident, and fierce woman. That mirrors what I see in her own mama. 


Juddson Drake (featured as the bump in this series) was born in May of 2024. We’re about to celebrate his first birthday and he looks like equal parts Row and Jake. He’s such a happy laid back nugget and my heart bursts every time I see him.
